since 1993. The mission support functions include logistics
support, security support, problem reporting and resolution,
modification support, operational and tactical deployments,
periodic in-port maintenance, Command and Control System
modernization, major shipyard overhauls, post-shipyard
operational testing and certification, Trident Training
Facility installations and modernization, and ship mission
conversion.
Elements of the logistics support effort include:
Maintain site warehouse
capabilities at two remote facilities
Maintain warehouse tools
and equipment
Operate warehouse and
transportation vehicles
Bar code, shelve, store,
and issue over 20,000 line items of configuration-managed
components at two remote facilities
Maintain line item
configuration to support multiple installations at
varying configuration levels
Screen logistics support
elements for applicability to discrete targeted
installations
Maintain installation
and checkout spares at two remote facilities
Maintain and update on-line
local area network-accessible inventory and locator database
for use by facility management and maintenance personnel
Maintain equipment and
software configuration status accounting records for all
shipboard, training facility, and intermediate
maintenance facility installations
Identify and coordinate
logistics support requirements for maintenance periods,
overhauls, and conversions
Screen and evaluate
logistics element applicability against installation
schedules that vary from the sequence of development
(because out-of-sequence installations have the
potential for removing valid logistics elements)
Conduct logistics support
audits and status accounting audits
