MiniFides 336
Core Competencies
TSM
Corporation’s fire detection and suppression (FIDES) system offers
high-integrity fire protection using independent modules designed
for exceedingly high reliability. A self-contained FIDES unit is
powered by long-life batteries, which drive a series of fire
detection sensors, which are coupled to electrically activated
valves for automatic discharge of surfactant when a fire is
detected. FIDES units are transportable and quickly mounted into an
easily installed mounting fixture. The system is capable of
detecting startup fires as small as 3 inches in diameter at a
distance of up to 20 feet.
MiniFides 336 is a reliable, technically advanced fire detection and suppression system. It has been designed for industrial, marine and military operating environments that require an automated, standalone system to rapidly detect and extinguish a fire. Within seconds of fire ignition, the MiniFides 336 infrared sensors can detect a fire and activate solenoids, releasing fire suppressant agent onto the fire. The system is designed to extinguish a fire as quickly as a few seconds, minimizing damage to materials and equipment.
MiniFides offers a range of sensors, fire suppression agents and
discharge nozzles to best suit the type of fire protection required.
MiniFides special fire detection sensors have been demonstrated to
be insensitive to sunlight or other light sources, preventing an
abnormal discharge of its fire suppressant agent. The unique design
of the MiniFides Fire Detection and Suppression System includes
nozzles with specific spray patterns for different fire suppression
applications. Dependable operation is ensured by a 10-year component
life expectancy, a 5-year operating battery life, and redundant
circuitry and discharge mechanics.
MiniFides can be configured as a standalone unit containing its own
power source and does not require connection to any other equipment.
Once mechanically mounted, it requires minimal periodic attention in
most environments. Ruggedized units have multiple recessed nozzles
protected from impact by foreign objects; multiple optical sensors
protected from dust, dirt and moisture; and redundant circuitry to
assure continued reliability.
Various configurations of the MiniFides 336 are available for
specific applications, such as a Flat Pack configuration for engine
rooms with limited overhead space, as well as different release
nozzle configurations for tall ceilings. Extinguisher nozzles and
fire suppressant agent selection depends on the type of fire to be
extinguished and the configuration of the coverage area to be
protected. MiniFides is suitable for A, B and C class fires when
properly configured and installed.
Reliability
Reliability studies predict MiniFides will successfully release fire suppressant agent upon detection of a fire 99.8% of the time.
Maintenance
A diagnostic circuit is included in the MiniFides 336 for routine
preventive maintenance checks and system operational verification. A
monthly maintenance check of the system’s status panel is all that
is needed. An optional, remote system status panel is available to
provide a continuous operational status of one or more remotely
mounted MiniFides units.
In the event of a need for servicing, modularity of the MiniFides
336 permits rapid replacement of a module. A parts kit is available
from the manufacturer, or a packaged valve assembly can be supplied
for easy replacement by trained maintenance personnel. Training of
personnel in unit maintenance is also available.
