Attack Helicopters

Two attack helicopters, the AH-64 Apache and the AH-1 Cobra, are supported by TSM interactive courseware (ICW). Training packaging includes systems overview and lessons with tutorials stressing physical description, operation, and functional operation. Procedures lessons are also provided on inspections, troubleshooting, repair, application and utilization of test and support equipment, and component removal and installation procedures.

Work on the AH-64 Apache involved 281 hours of ICW covering:

• Hydraulics
• Pressurized air
• Landing gear
• Brake systems
• Airframe
• Armament systems
• Automatic flight systems

AH-1 Cobra ICW support is comprised of 191 lessons on:

• Armament
• Electrical

Since initial implementation of the training system development process, interactivity levels have been expanded to include advanced level three with limited artificial intelligence in troubleshooting and maintenance procedure lessons.
